Galina Konstantinovna Petrova (09.09.1920, Nikolaev — 08.12.1943, village of Eltigen) was a Soviet marine nurse of the Black Sea Fleet during the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union (17.11.1943).

On November 1, 1943, Petrova took part in the amphibious landing near the village of Eltigen on the Kerch Peninsula. Under continuous fire, she selflessly provided medical assistance to the paratroopers and carried about fifty wounded soldiers from the battlefield. In the battles on the bridgehead, protecting the wounded, she repeatedly participated in repelling enemy counterattacks. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated November 17, 1943, for exemplary performance of combat missions of the command at the front of the struggle against the German invaders and for her bravery and heroism, Chief Petty Officer Galina Petrova was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal. However, she was not destined to receive these awards. In a fierce battle on the beachhead on December 3, 1943, she was seriously wounded. And the next day, a German aerial bomb hit the dugout with the wounded, where Galina Petrova was, and everyone in it died.

She was buried at the Military Cemetery in Kerch.
