Model of 26-banches French Royal galley

The model reproduces a two-masted  ceremonial galley with all sails and an awning. Pennants with the emblem of the French royal house – the golden lily – are raised on the masts and flagpoles. The model was made in Paris and presented by Duke of Orleans to Peter the Great during his stay in France in 1717. It was entered the Model Camera from the cabinet of Peter the Great at the Academy of Sciences in 1848.
