The open artillery platform of ship artillery as an integral part of branch Of the Central naval Museum "Kronstadt fortress", functions since 1993. The purpose of creating artillery platforms were: the preservation of the armament of ship and coastal artillery of the Navy of the twentieth century, the collection of the Central naval Museum of artillery weapons of the Navy of the later period from decommissioned ships, the promotion of the development of domestic artillery, the Navy and the training of personnel of the Navy on military traditions. Samples of artillery weapons purchased and installed the Central naval Museum as a Museum of historical items.
